This was one of those funny yet mindless movies. One of those films obviously not for kids due to the subject matter, yet the humour is at an adolescent level. The premise is simple, two highschool football players decide to attend cheerleading camp instead of football camp. They do this partially to avoid football camp but mostly to run through as much pom pom pussy as possible. They run slick game for a while but of course one of them falls for the hard-to-get girl, which puts a kink in the boys' longer term summer plans. The writing has a very current edge and our two stars inject their own hilarious slang (as revealed by the blooper reel). The always funny John Michael Higgins is classic as the cheerleading camp's director. His character is like a real life Flanders. Also, I'd be foolish not to mention the high quality of T&A. Need to laugh but not think about the jokes? Fired Up is at the video store (or Netflix) now.
