Juelz Santana - Marshall Law DNB Remixes
Tuesday, January 10, 2006

Juelz Santana and Drum & Bass...not something I expected, but should've. In fact, this 12" can't be tha only Dipset DnB mash-up...but if it is, it's long overdue. Marshall Law comes through with three seperate cuts on this hyphy piece of vinyl, and he keeps the basslines rapid and raw from the jump. On one side he takes Santana's Mic Check and produces a nice hard steppin' blend of Dips flavour and eardrum rumblin' riddims. But the second joint, and the illest of the effort, Santana Town Remix, has Marshall Law takin' the original track and twerking it to a point where the sick basslines, hypnotic melodies, and on-point sampling ("I'm so dope it's a weapon") make it hard for an ol' time junglist to deny the need for this type of pulse pounding music on today's airwaves. The extended version of Mic Check on the flip side called Bass Check comes correct with the heavy low-end for sure but it almost seems overly ambitious and could have been edited down from its 7 plus minutes. Otherwise, this effort on Drumslinger will suffice the DnB massive and Human Crack in tha Flesh fans' expectations alike.
