Hip-Hop is not simply for sale, it’s a fuckin’ auction! That said, the second track, Back Wit Heat, is a Nottz banger and is really the standout track on Hip-Hop For $ale. Apparently, the raspiest emcee in the game bin busy, cranking out seven albums since parting ways with Clef. Son hasn’t forgotten the Fugee that put him on. He won’t let you forget that Gone ‘Til November remix either. Disillusioned at times, this album seems the result of some madman formula he concocted while he was high listening to one of LL’s old joints. Dear Academy is just zany, aren’t you beefin’ with Em, how you gon' get near him to strike a pose with him? So Into You featuring Juli Ecaro is ridiculous, with lines like, "She said I know you’re a rapper/ career in the crapper/ tell me about your bad luck/ and if I feel sorry enough, I’ll give you a sad fuck". What's going on Bus? He can "write rhymes upside down with an astronaut pen" (as he boasts on Da Facelift), but can he deliver us a whole album of the ruthless flow he displays on Take 'Dat with Star Awon and Ike Infa Diamond? Going, going, sold to a last-second jack-up artist on eBay!
