Rusko, the dubstep megastar that even your grandma wants to work with, had The Commodore Ballroom freaking out on Sunday night. This reporter experienced overwhelming awe at the spectacle that is dubstep and the contemporary club/dance culture. This is an artist who fully represents dubstep and his performance was an intense, festival-worthy set. Rusko is a scruffy bastard who puts all his physical energy into his music. That guy head bangs while scratching and twisting dials and shit. And, I guess he’s super-paid from working with people like Britney Spears and Rihanna, so now he has stage lights that spell his name, strobe, and slide around vertically.

Meanwhile, a colossal kinetic energy being is trolling about the space swallowing new victims into its mass of sweaty, syncopated chaos. I mean, this was a Sunday, but it rocked like Friday night. The boisterous Rusko feverishly emceed the event, and his over-the-top beats reflect a general philosophy. Considering that he is an experience not just a musician, Rusko is best enjoyed fresh and live, as opposed to out of your co-worker’s iPod.
