The Goon Vol. 7: A Place of Heartache and Grief

Publisher: Darkhorse Comics

I'm not one of those guys that gets all excited about reading about men that fly around in spandex suits. Superheroes and super powers is kinda played out if you ask me. That's why I read real shit like The Goon. He doesn't have laser vision or adamantium claws that come out of his knuckles. Regardless, he'll still kick your ass. All he really has is a wise-ass side kick named Frankie, who reminds me of Joe Pesci because of his "take no shit" attitude. In the latest trade paperback in the series we find Goon up against a man he thought he killed years ago. Yep, you guessed it, Labrazio is back from the grave and has taken over where the Zombie Priest left off. Not only is it the return of Labrazio but a whole gang of your favorite characters come back into the Goon's life. If you've been a faithful reader since issue #1, then you know how sick Powell's cast of characters truly is. The hilariously entertaining story is reason enough to read this trade paperback, but if you need another, the amazing illustrations will seal the deal. This is one of those series that I need in my collection and I don't even collect comics. Yeah, I'm geeked out about The Goon. What can I say, I'm a fan of high quality product.
