Interview by Rack-Lo

On May 10th, Hip-Hop was definitely seen, heard and felt as the Boot Camp Clik members gathered at the their official album listening session for their new album 'The Last Stand'. The energy was high, the music was classic, the people were excited and The Boot Camp Clik movement moves on. I had the opportunity to speak with some of the members and I must say it felt like the beginning of East Coast Hip-Hop renassaince. Viewing the new video for 'Hate Me Now' only further proves that Boot Camp Clik have stood the test of time and that they have never lost the love and passion for Hip-Hop Culture. Thick Magazine spoke to BCC about various issues and the Clik definitely shedded some light. So sit back, buckle up, enjoy the ride as Boot Camp Clik drop jewels, revisit the recording process for 'The Last Stand', discuss future projects, touring, merchandising, independence, being original and authentic, setting trends, and the future of BCC.

Enter the thoughts of Steele (Smif & Wessun), Buckshot (Black Moon), Ruck (Heltah Skeltah) and Da Rockness Monsta (Heltah Skeltah).

Thick: So, Buckshot what’s good? What’s been cracking?
Buckshot: This shit is crazy, because I got my man Rack-Lo interviewing me right now. We on that grind right now. We official like we always did it. We still on it nah mean, we in the streets. Right now all of us is back together, all (eight) emcees united forming one unit. 'The Last Stand', know what I’m saying, it’s about to go down, it’s crazy. All producers on the album are fire; Pete Rock, Large Professor, Coptic, Beatminerz, 9th Wonder, Illmind and Marco Polo.

T: How was the whole chemistry in the studio putting this album together? How was the overall vibe?
Rock: That shit is like a sleep over at your cousin’s crib. That shit is easy like fucking 'Crazy 8'. It’s natural.
