Thick: How and when did you get into music? Baby Dayliner: I guess six, seven years ago, when I came back from school. I was playing music in bands and stuff, and got interested in having my own gear and recording. I guess it got more involved with Baby Dayliner. It's intensive in terms of different things going on; organic instruments, sampling and synths all together...and lots of singing.
T: You seem to have a real '80s sound, speak on that. BD: Yeah, people have said things along those lines before; that the music has a certain '80s sound to it. I think anyone born after 1970 probably grew-up with a synthesiser in their house. And for my generation and a little older it's pretty natural to use synthesisers when you're recording, that's part of it...I mean there might be a certain romantic edge to the lyrics as well that's kind of '80s. But I think most of the time people hear synths and they think '80s. But what modifies that, listening to my music, is the fusion of other sounds as well, like obvious Hip-Hop influences, rock and whatever else.
